COVID-19 | Supporting small businesses

This is not another one of our COVID-19 support articles about accountancy, tax or government support schemes. It is a note of gratitude to our small businesses across the country, who have kept going despite the difficulties and everyone supporting them.

Penn Accounts provide services to small and micro-businesses all of which have been affected by the pandemic. And we have the first-hand experience seeing these everyday struggles, before COVID-19, and throughout the pandemic.

From the very outset of the pandemic and when the first lockdown was announced by the government, ALL of our clients were asking this question:

How can we support our employees?

Honestly, I was really touched by such care and responsibility shown by the directors and managers towards their staff. But that is no surprise, as so it often happens, the team has become their extended family.

These small businesses make our economy and I cannot emphasise enough how important it is to shop local. It really does make a difference. I would like to say thank you and praise you for your loyalty and kindness of my clients’ customers, who have during the past few months continued to buy services and products from small local businesses, thus supporting these businesses and their staff.

Please continue to think “local” when you do your shopping for the products you need or services. At the end of the day, we will all benefit from it.
